XP: Change the Size of the Volume/Play Control

Some users of XP may find the volume control too large. The following tech-recipe describes how to bring it down to size.

I frequently use the volume control, but I have found that it takes up too much screen space when it is open. Placing it in the system tray keeps it out of the way when it is closed; however, when it is open, another fix is available to decrease its size.

You can decrease the size of the volume control when it is open by pressing CTRL-S. This will decrease its size by about half.

Enjoy your smaller volume/play control!
