Normally, if you are away from home and want to see if you have received any new voicemails, you would need to call and check. This can be a huge waste of time if no one has called, or even if no one important has called. You can set Comcast Voice to send you an email notification when a new voicemail is left that will include the phone number of the caller. You can even configure the notification so that it will send a SMS mobile notification to your cell phone.
1. Go to Comcast.net and login to your account.
2. On the right side of the screen, beneath the weather, select Voice.
3. Using the menu along the top of the page, select Preferences.
4. Use the menu in the left pane. Under Call Manager, select Notifications.
5. Make sure that your home number is selected and then go to Email Notification.
6. Input the email address that you want the notification sent to and click the Add button. If you want to receive an SMS mobile alert on your phone instead, use the address for your phone. You can find out how to do this by using the following information:
SMS through E-Mail: Cingular, Nextel, Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon, Virgin Mobile
SMS through E-Mail: US Cellular, SunCom, Powertel, ATT, Metro PCS and Alltel
7. Click the Save button.
