Using this tech recipe, you can prevent users from modifying the look of your folders or changing your folder settings. Keep reading to find out how this is done.
In both Vista and XP Pro, you can delete Folder Options under the Tools menu to prevent changes from being made to folder settings.
Open the Group Policy Editor.
Go to Start\Run. Type gpedit.msc.
Then move through the left pane to the following:
User Configuration\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Windows Explorer\
To the right, find the key: Removes the Folder Options menu from the Tools Menu.
Double-click, and select enable.
Now, users cannot modify the look of the folders, change folder settings, or apply hidden folder options.
