The Sound Scheme in Windows 7 contains several audio files that will be played when certain events occur on your computer. It can help you recognize the events easily by just hearing the sound. This setting can be changed easily so problem may arise when other users on the computer change the scheme. To avoid confusion when hearing the sounds, it is a good idea to disable changing this setting.
1. Press Win key + R to open the Run dialog.
2. Type in regedit and hit Enter.
3. Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows.
4. Create a new Personalization key by right-clicking on the Windows key -> New -> Key.
4. Click on the new key, and then right-click on the right side panel -> New -> DWORD (32-bit) Value. Name the new key NoChangingSoundScheme.
5. Double click on the new DWORD, and change its value from 0 to 1. Click OK to save.
6. Close the registry windows. It should take effect immediately. If not, please restart your computer to see the change (The color scheme button in the personalization window is grayed out).
