It never fails, you finally get your PC off to sleep (mode) and you accidentally bump your mouse. Your computer is wide awake again and you have to go through all the steps again to put it back in sleep mode. By changing the default setting on your mouse, you can disable the device’s ability to wake your sleeping computer.
1. Click the Orb and open Control Panel.
2. Select Hardware and Sound.
3. Beneath Devices and Printers, select Mouse.
4. Click the Hardware tab.
5. Select your mouse from the listed devices.
6. Click the Properties button.
7. Click the Change settings button.
8. Click the Power Management tab.
9. Uncheck the Allow this device to wake the computer checkbox.
10. Click OK to close the device’s Properties window.
11. Click OK to close the Mouse Properties window.
