Most NVIDIA drivers will install an entry called “NVIDIA Display” in your context menu. When people right-click on their desktop, they see this useless menu setting. Here is how to remove it.
This tutorial describes how to take NVIDIA out of your context menu.
It kills me when companies decide their products are so important that I should see their software everytime I right-click. NVIDIA is notorious for this.
Here is how to remove NVIDIA from your context menu:
- 1. Click Start.
2. Click Run.
3. Type regedit in the textbox.
4. Click OK.
5. In the registry editor, go to the following key:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\Background\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers\NvCplDesktopContext
6. Right-click on NvCplDesktopContext, and select delete.
7. Exit regedit.
Now, when you right-click, you will no longer see NVIDIA.
