Outlook 2010: How to Disable the Favorites Panel in the Navigation Pane

If you don’t use the Favorites panel and want more room to view your mail folder list, you can disable the Favorites panel. This change won’t remove anything located in the panel, so you can easily go back to it if you change your mind.

1. Open Outlook.

2. Make sure you are in Mail view (you should see your inbox).

3. Go to the Ribbon and select View.

4. Go to the Layout section and click on Navigation Pane.

5. Click Favorites on the dropdown menu to deselect it.

The Favorites panel will be removed from your Navigation Pane. To get the Favorites Panel back, repeat the above steps to reselect Favorites.
