Lotus Symphony is IBM’s variant of the popular OpenOffice for use on Windows and Linux systems. You can set the file type associations to allow Lotus Symphony to open SmartSuite and/or Microsoft Office files. It will also use these associations when creating new documents (instead of odt, ott, odp, etc.)
1. Open one of the Lotus Symphony productivity tools (Spreadsheets, Documents, or Presentations).
2. Click File and select Preferences.
3. In the left pane, expand Productivity Tools and select File Type Associations.
4. In the right pane, use the checkboxes to select the filetypes you want to be associated with Lotus Symphony.
5. Click OK.
