One of the most visually appealing features in iTunes 11 is that way an album’s details window changes colors based on the predominate design of the album art. However, since many users find these color changes annoying, this feature can be disabled.
The sexiest feature of iTunes 11 is the way the information and songs listed within the album view is presented. The colors are derived from the album art itself. Typically, it is beautiful.
Since the colors are generated based on the album art, occasionally the effect is like pouring salt in your eyes.
Personally, I love the effect, but a loud group of users have been begging for a way to disable this new feature.
In the main iTunes menu, select Preferences . In the General tab uncheck Use custom colors for open albums, movies, etc.. Click OK to close the window.
When this feature is disabled, the details will be presented in typical monochromatic fashion.
