In IE, by default, a user can only download two files at once. The following tutorial explains how to increase this.
Because of some silly standards, IE limits the number of files that can be downloaded at once to two. In the world of broadband, this is just not enough. Use the steps below to increase it.
This requires editing the registry. Back up your system beforehand.
1. Click Start.
2. Click Run.
3. Enter regedit into the textbox, and click OK.
4. In regedit, go to the following key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings
5. Click the Edit Menu.
6. Select New and DWORD value.
7. Name your selection MaxConnectionsPer1_0Server, and hit ENTER.
8. Double-click MaxConnectionsPer1_0Server.
9. When the box opens, change the value to a.
10. Click the Edit Menu option again.
11. Select New and DWORD value.
12. Name your selection MaxConnectionsPerServer, and hit ENTER.
8. Double-click MaxConnectionsPerServer.
9. When the box opens, change the value to a.
10. Quit regedit.
This changes it to a maximum of ten (hex a) downloads at once.
