Evolution: Set Interval for Automatic Removal of Deleted Items

Without proper management, your Trash folders can get out of control and take up unnecessary space on your drive. Instead of manually managing the items in your Trash folders, you can set the interval that you want Evolution to automatically remove these items.

1. Open Evolution.

2. Click Edit and select Preferences.

3. From the left pane, select Mail Preferences. Select the General tab.

4. On the right, under Delete Mail, check the Empty trash folders on exit checkbox. Select the interval from the dropdown, choose from Every time, Once per day, Once per week or Once per month.

5. Click Close.
