gOS: Customize Your IBar

The IBar is the dock at the bottom of the gOS desktop which gives you quick access to your favorite applications. While the default listing of apps covers a lot of ground, you will probably want to customize it to better fit your needs by adding and removing applications from the dock.

To customize your IBar, you will need to access the IBar Applications configuration box. To access this, right-click on the IBar and select Add Application from the context menu.

To Add Applications to the IBar:

Use the Application Categories on the left side to find the desired application. For our example, we will add the Pidgin Internet Messenger to our dock.

1. Select the category for the desired application (for example InstantMessaging).

2. Select the desired application so that it is highlighted.

3. Click the Add button.

4. The application will be listed in the IBar Applications list on the right side.

5. Click the Apply button to see the newly added application in your IBar.

6. To add another application, click the Categories button on the left side and repeat the above steps.

7. When finished, click the OK button.

To Remove Applications from the IBar:

1. Select the desired application from the IBar Applications list on the right.

2. Click the Delete button to remove the application from the list.

3. Click the Apply button to see that the application was removed.

4. Repeat for each application you want to remove from the IBar.

5. When finished, click the OK button.

To Change the Order That the Applications are Displayed on your IBar:

It makes it easier to find your applications if you keep them in an order that makes since, such as keeping similar applications next to each other.

1. Select the application from the IBar Applications list on the right.

2. Use the Up and Down buttons to move the application up or down on the list.

3. Click the Apply button to see your changes on the IBar.

4. Repeat the above steps for each application that needs to be moved.

5. When you are finished, click the OK button.
