You may want to reset your Samsung Galaxy Gear S2 for several reasons. Whether you want to pass your Gear 2 on to a friend or relative, sell it online, or delete all the data and applications installed on it, performing a reset on the device is easy. Take note that you need to perform backup procedures should you want to retain files on your Gear S2. This tutorial describes two ways you can reset your Samsung Galaxy Gear S2.
Reset the Samsung Galaxy Gear S2 Through the Settings
You can reset the Samsung Galaxy Gear S2 by going to your watch’s Settings. There are two types available: Factory Reset and Light Reset.
1.Go to your Galaxy Gear S2’s watch face.
2.From the watch face, swipe to the left to view the applications icons.
3.From the App shortcuts, tap on the gear icon to open Settings.
4.In Settings, scroll down until you get to the Gear Info option.
5.Tap on the Gear Info option.
6.Tap on the Reset Gear option.
7.Choose between Light Reset and Factory Reset. If you want to delete all data but retain your media files and personal data, then choose Light Reset. Factory Reset will delete all the data on the Gear S2, including media files and personal data.
8.Confirm the reset by tapping on the Check icon on the right side of the watch’s screen.
9.Wait for the watch to finish the process. You are done.
Hard Reset the Samsung Galaxy Gear S2
You can also perform a hard reset on your Samsung Galaxy Gear S2 in case you have forgotten your PIN code. The hard reset will reset your phone to its factory settings. To do a hard reset, follow these steps:
1.Turn off the Gear S2 by pressing and holding the Power button.
2.With your device turned off, press and hold the Power button until the word REBOOTING displays on the screen.
3.Press the Power button repeatedly until Select REBOOT MODE displays on the screen.
4.Scroll to the Recovery option by pressing on the Power button until the option is highlighted.
5.Activate Recovery by pressing and holding the Power button.
6.All data and files on the Gear S2 will be removed, and the device will reboot. You are done.
