Outlook 2007: Turn Off Attachment Preview

Outlook 2007 has a new feature that allows you to preview attachments and documents if the handler is available for that filetype. However, some users do not use (or like) this functionality. To turn off Attachment Preview, follow these steps:

Outlook 2007: How To Prevent the New Mail Desktop Alert from Appearing

By default, Outlook 2007 automatically pops up a Desktop Alert to show part of a new message that has just been received. To prevent others from viewing your incoming e-mail, you can disable it. To do this:

Napster Cancel Phone Number and Script

Excel 2007: Print High Quality Graphics

If you use graphics in your Excel spreadsheet and need them to really shine, print them out in high quality mode. Here’s how:

OS X: Thumbnail Preview

By default OS X does not show icons with thumbnail previews. For a large image/photo collection, thumbnail preview is very helpful. What is thumbnail preview? It is where the icon is changed to a preview of the actual image/video.

Excel 2007: Show Formulas to Verify Your Equations

One mistake that is often made in spreadsheets containing lots of data and formulas, is the accidental placement of numbers in a cell instead of the formula. It is a painful task to examine each and every cell one at a time to verify that the proper cells are using the proper equation. In addition, verifying that the cells referenced in the equations are correct can be equally overwhelming. Fortunately, Excel allows you to show the formulas of the entire spreadsheet so that you can more easily check your work. Excel 2007 does a great job of automatically expanding the cell size to accommodate long equations. Once you are finished verifying the formulas, a simple click of the mouse returns the spreadsheet to it’s normal data view with your formatting intact.

Excel 2007: Add Your Physical Signature to a Workbook

Once you have finalized a spreadsheet or workbook, you may want to add your physical signature (or actually an image of your signature) to the finished document. To do this:

OS X: What is beachballing or Spinning Pinwheel ?

Reading in the newsgroups, I frequently see these terms used–beachballing, spinning pinwheel, or spinning beach ball of death. What do these terms mean?

OpenOffice.org Writer: Add Illustration Numbers and Captions to Your Graphics

It often helps to use a caption for your image to provide additional info or point out specifics. You can add a caption and identifying figure number to pictures, drawing objects and tables.
