One of my previous recipes explained how to do an ‘unofficial’ master/hard reset on the Q. One thing I have noticed w/our Sprint Motorola Q is that after a hard reset is done, I get an error trying to use the internet or any internet-enabled apps. It shows the error: “Unable to place call”. Lets fix that!
This recipe is relevant to Sprint Motorola Qs and getting an error Unable to place call when you try to browse the internet or use an application that uses the Internet connection on the phone.
This also assumes you have a data plan for your phone/account.
1. On the Motorola Q, go to Start > Settings > PCS Vision (the last settings screen)
2. Be sure that your PCS Vision is enabled. I have noticed that when i hard reset my Q that it will automatically change that setting to Disabled.
3. If the setting is already set to “enabled”, try this:
go to Start > Settings > PCS Vision. Then in the PCS Vision menu, click on the Update Vision Profile. This will re-download your Sprint PCS Vision data profile from Sprint and hopefully resolve the problems.
If none of these options fix the problem, be sure you in a data coverage area.
