This new microsoft XP program allows you to send SMS messages from your desktop. The only downside is that you can’t receive messages through this program.
You must have a GSM cellular phone/device connected to your computer for this to work.
If you don’t have an GSM device available and still need to send SMS messages, try Using AIM to Send SMS messages.
It’s great for “pick up bread” type messages!
You can also use this method through the command line. Here is a cut/paste of the command line help:
