Google Chrome: Use the Keyboard Shortcuts

As with other browsers, Chrome has keyboard shortcuts that allow you to easily get to variable places in the browser or to access additional functionality. In most cases, the keyboard shortcuts are more time efficient than relying on the mouse and interface. Here are the ones that I found to be most beneficial.

Shift+Escape – brings up the Chrome Task Manager

Ctrl+Shift+T – Chrome reopens the last tab that was closed

Alt+Home – opens your homepage

Ctrl+T – open a new tab

Ctrl+click a link – opens link in new tab

Shift+click a link – opens link in new window

Ctrl+N – opens new window

Ctrl+B – toggles the Bookmarks bar

Ctrl+H – opens the History page

Ctrl+J – opens the Download page

Ctrl+U – view source of the current page

You can find a comprehensive listing of all of Chrome’s keyboard shortcuts at the Google Chrome Help Center.
