If you don’t like Google’s new addition to Gmail that allows you to make outbound voice calls to phones you can disable this feature and lose the Call phone icon as well.
1. Go to Gmail and login to your account.
2. Go to the upper-right corner and click the Settings link.
3. In the Settings menu, select Chat.
4. Go to the Google Voice section and select the Disable outbound voice calling radio button.
5. Click the Save Changes button.
