Google Earth: Change cache size for better performance

If you experience any performance issues while using Google Earth, it may be a good idea to increase the memory and disk cache size of the program. By doing so, Google Earth will run much smoother. This step by step guide will show you how to do this.

1. Launch Google Earth.

2. Go to Tools -> Options…

3. By default, when the Google Earth Options window appear, it will be in the 3D view tab. Please switch to Cache tab.

4. In the Cache tab, you can change the Memory and Disk Cache Size. Please keep in mind that the memory cache size you can set depends on your RAM, the disk cache size is limited to 2GB.

5. When you are done, hit OK to save the setting.

Note: Increasing the cache size can improve the program’s performance, but can also impact the performance of other applications.
