Internet Explorer 9’s New Tab Page displays two rows of 5 (10) of your most popular sites. You can increase the number of rows from 2 to 3, 4, or 5 by applying a simple change to your registry.
1. Close Internet Explorer.
2. Open Notepad.
3. Copy and paste the following into the new text document:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\TabbedBrowsing\NewTabPage]
"NumRows"=dword:00000005
(Change the dword value to 00000003 for three rows and 00000004 for 4 rows)
4. Save the document as ie9_tabpage_pop_sites.reg.
5. Double-click the new file to merge it into the Registry.
6. Continue through the UAC prompt and confirm that you wish to perform the action.
Open Internet Explorer and select a new tab to now see the additional rows.
