Once again we compare the cameras between two phones. By taking photos from similar positions and conditions, we provide a unique way to contrast the images created by these two mobile devices.
Previously, we compared the cameras of the iPhone 4 versus the BlackBerry Bold. This time we compare the photos generated by the iPhone 4 and the BB Torch.
Beach photos are difficult for any camera. The less exposure that I often like in BlackBerry devices hurts the device here. The iPhone 4 more accurately reproduces the scene. The difference in the depth of field between the cameras can be seen here as well. The iPhone gets the rail in focus while the BlackBerry does not. This isn’t a knock against either device but is a difference.
Here is are a couple of indoor pictures.
The exposure and color in this relatively dark indoor photo are relatively accurate in both devices. The close-up focus on the BlackBerry is not as crisp here.
Here’s an every closer shot.
The exposure differences are once again noticeable. The BlackBerry’s close focus issues are reproduced here.
