Photoshop: How to Turn Off or Disable Marching Ants Selection

In photoshop when something is selected, the section is highlighted with a marching ants type pattern. Hiding this can be helpful at times. This explains how to do it.

This is not hard, but people around the office are always amazed that it can be done. The “marching ants” selection highlight works well, but often gets in the way of fine photo adjustments.

You can turn marching ants off (or back on) by hitting the following keystroke:

    CTRL-H

The weakness of doing this is that often you will forget that you have something selected if you have marching ants disabled. Hit CTRL-H again to turn it back on, or hit CTRL-D to unselect everything.
