OS X: Avoid the 2 Minute Countdown

Are you sure that you want to shutdown your computer now? Uh, yeah… I am. Here is how to avoid the 120 seconds of delay before your system will shutdown.

I understand why OS X does this. There is just sometimes I want to shut down now… with no extra keystrokes. Here is how to avoid the extra click or delay. There are two ways to accomplish this:

1. Here is your jedi shortcut. The eject button is typically found in the right upper hand corner of the keyboard:

ctrl-option-CMD-Eject

2. If you want to just want to use the menu to shut down, just press the option key when you hit Shut Down from the Apple menu.
