Garmin Bobcat: How to Edit and Join Tracks

Garmin Bobcat is garmin’s project to bring the management of GPS data to the Mac platform. One of the most common features in GPS data manipulation is the editing and joining of multiple tracks to represent one long trail. Here is how to do it.

Woo-hoo. Garmin is loving the mac platform. Bobcat looks to be a sexy offering. However, some simple things like joining tracks are not obvious.

1. First click on each ACTIVE LOG in the left column to see which tracks actually contain good, useful data. Double clicking on an active log will allow for the removal of data points if needed. ACTIVE LOGs that are not useful can just be deleted.

2. Highlight the tracks to join and right-click (or ctrl-click). Select Join Tracks from the context menu.

3. A dialog box will appear containing all the joining options.

4. This information can then be exported to google earth (and eventually google maps) for sharing.
